On January 13th and 16th, Ryan Schaetzle visited the MFA Film program for workshops on location managing for film and television. A board member of Location Managers Guild International, Ryan has worked on dozens of films and television shows as a location manager, including Peacemaker.
In the workshop at the Studio Production Learning Center, Ryan answered questions including what the location manager position entails, factors to consider when location scouting, and how the location manager works with other crew members of the production.
In the workshop at Trilith Studios, Ryan shared his experience of location scouting in Georgia. He was able to give tips for thesis year students who are currently scouting locations for their thesis films.
