On Friday, January 30, Producer Nick Moceri visited MFA Film for a Masterclass with MFA Film students and alumni.


Nick Moceri’s film SOVEREIGN, written/directed by Christian Swegal, screened at the UGA Fine Arts Building Balcony Theatre on Thursday, January 29, with a Q&A moderated by Neil Landau. On Friday, Nick headed to the Athena Studio Production Learning Center, where he was joined virtually for the class by Christian Swegal.

Nick Moceri is founder and producer at All Night Diner, a Los Angeles-based production company and consultancy that works in film, television, podcasts, and digital media. He has 20 years of experience in producing, developing, and distributing content across various platforms and genres, with a focus on innovative storytelling. He is a member of PGA, and an alum of the UCLA MFA Producers Program, where he now guest lectures. His film SOVEREIGN was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards, including Best Screenplay (Christian Swegal) and Best Supporting Actor (Jacob Tremblay).

During the Masterclass, Nick presented the case study of the film “A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night.” The film was written and directed by Ana Lily Amirpour, and was originally a UCLA student short film before beginning its journey to feature film. Nick also discussed current film financing models, shared his career journey, and offered a wealth of career guidance to the MFA Film students and alumni.
