On February 14th, Friday, Jeremy Thao visited the MFA Film program at the Studio Production Learning Center to share his experience of making his first short film, Wokman.

Jeremy has worked in the industry as 1st assistant director and production coordinator and built network of collaborators in Georgia. He shared that building trust and relationship is a key skill in independent filmmaking.

After screening the trailer for Wokman, Jeremy spoke on winning the Film Impact Georgia grant and crowdfunding for the film’s production budget.

The students and alumni got to ask him about casting process of actors who can speak both English and Mandarin, the process of setting up LLC for the crowdfunding, and the importance of keeping up with the community formed through the crowdfunding campaign.
